How can you measure success, if you haven’t clearly defined your goals and the path you’ll take to get there?
Introducing the Individual Wellness Pathway
Those were trick questions, because you can’t measure success if you haven’t set specific, measurable goals. Doing that on your own can be overwhelming. Don’t go it alone! Mercy Fitness Center now offers a 30-day, Individual Wellness Pathway. Here’s how it works, step by step.
- Set up your initial assessment, called “Define Your Now.” We’re going to look at your current fitness level, your nutrition, and your personal health goals. If you can’t tell us what those are, we can help you put them into words. We’re working SMARTer here. Your trainer will help you set goals that are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-based.
2. Come into the fitness center for an orientation. This is like a “how-to” personal training session. Your trainer will teach you warm-up and cool-down techniques, and will demonstrate and teach proper form for using various strength, cardio, and flexibility movements and equipment. Create a plan with the help of your fitness specialist.
3. Your third stop on the Wellness Pathway is a personal training session. Your fitness specialist is certified to train you in the safest and most effective ways to incorporate movement into your routine so that your fitness level improves. With your fitness specialist, you’ll determine what kinds of workouts might be the best match for you, your current fitness level, and the goals you set together. Once you’ve made a plan, commit to it, and remember that progress is always preferable to staying on the couch.
4. Once you’ve had a chance to implement some changes and really work your plan, you’ll call or come in for one final check-in with your trainer. You’ll both talk about how you’re feeling, whether the plan needs adjusting, and how much closer you are to your goals than when you started.
